Myth was never just a tale; it was a compass, showing us how to act, where we belong, and how to live in right rhythm with life itself. But with the Enlightenment of the 18th century, Western culture traded myth for narrative—linear progress, measurable success, and identity as plot. By the 19th century, industrialization and psychology cemented this shift, leaving men disenchanted, disconnected, and comparing themselves against someone else’s storyline. Yet myth still matters, because it restores us to the timeless cycle of transcendence and imagination—the posture from which men live fully alive, in right relationship with themselves, each other, and the world.
